Philosophy was given air to breath by the rise of a bourgeoisie, Greek, French, German, those rich enough to have the free time to consider just why.
Science gave people the ability to reason and conceive a life free of god heads, then replace those god heads with consumerism............. do people need godheads to drive them to the next best thing, is there a place in the human psyche where peace can be found or are we by our very nature unable to attain peace before death brings it to us?
Peace is attainable only with the departure of need and want, maybe Hope is born of the vision of that place where we have learnt to accept the small and available as being sufficient, maybe the human race is doomed by the race.
